Has UBS become one big echo chamber?

I’m seeing more and more reports of the bank being run like a college fraternity with MDs hiring their old friends, giving their friends the largest bonuses, and hiring. sons into the firm. How is this happening at a BB?

100% true. Place has become a joke in the last 2 years.

I heard one banker hired his son from a no name college and they actually got him into the bank

It’s funny because their entire goal is to become Barclays (sixth). It’s like the entire bank is built on the rage that one banker had in not getting promoted at Barclays

Quote from Nov 2025;
"The Credit Suisse acquisition and significant investments in hiring great talent means we are now well-positioned to significantly grow — not only in the Americas, but globally where our ambition is to rank sixth,” Valla said.

If anything I’d say that the banks performance has decreased significantly the last 2 years. Here’s to hoping 2026 is better

Many of those who came over worked under Jes Staley, so you have to and it’s fair to wonder..

That and the chain itself seems like a circle jerk…with the same dude or two posting and replying and then liking their own comments…

I get it’s winter but someone needs to touch some grass….

UBS blows no doubt. My friend got laid off over the summer and said its night and day at his new bank.

Dont let anyone gaslight you into thinking how UBS operates from a low productivity and highly nepotistic POV is normal. Its highly dysfunctional, a strategy for bankers to maximize comp in the short term before they retire

MV and crew just shitting on the bank and then using expected severance to bridge retirement

Petition to rename WSO to UBS hate club. I feel like everyday there's at least 1 UBS post in the front page for the last few months. People aren't even making new points each time, it's getting super stale.

Yeah I agree no point in continuing to post. Everyone knows UBS is awful and declining rapidly. Most of their teams are fairly clueless and it would be hard to trust them with anything meaningful

How is any of the things on this reflective of their team being clueless? it's very clear it's the same 1 or 2 posting on alts, so not really reflective of the juniors there. It's not like it's the juniors job to bring in deals. I view the juniors as unforutnate people who are stuck in this show; given how far back recruiting cycles are the first class that really should have known better is the c/o 2026, since they recruited in 2024 when all the negatives was more well known through WSO.

Leaving UBS post bonus. Excited to be free! I recommend never considering working here.

Have witnessed some pretty blatant nepotism here lmao but the real problem is the lack of deal flow, the shitty culture, low bonuses, bad MDs who can’t bring in deals, abusive directors and executive directors creating unnecessary work and overhiring internationals on H1Bs. Anyone who knowingly joined UBS post CS acquisition is an idiot.

Having half of the class filled by internationals is a race to the bottom in terms of pushing back/quality of life and working for them is hell on earth and they are 1000% more likely to abuse you vs Americans

I’d bet it’s Marco or one of his minions who’s a card carrying member of Marco’s army

Almost as comical, I’m sorry meant sad and pathetic, guy who posted this with a brand new alt account to complement his 6 other alt accounts about how much he dislikes a place during a time when he should get over being fired, or zeroed, and spending time with family. Again same dynamic of someone posting them immediate replies and SBs.

Touch some grass bro and happy holidays. Hopefully you find peace some day.

  1. Legitimately a prospect
  2. I’m not like you scrolling on this brain rot forum 24/7, and thus have no reason to comment
  3. This account has been around longer than a few months. Don't you think I would have already used it by now?
  4. Keep enjoying UBS man!

Think we have found your 4th alt account.

What year did you get fired again?

People that spend all day and night posting about their former employer need help and need it ASAP. Just try to find a new job and move on jfc.
