Having an Interesting/Unique Name in IB
I’m sure this is an offbeat topic but I haven’t heard anyone really talk about it and I think there’s more to the story here. Does having a unique and interesting sounding name count for anything as you progress in career?
No
My legal name is literally pronounced as "Zeus". Have to use my preferred name at work to hide the fact that I am a Greek god
Cat boy
Probably not, unless it's related to a country or culture and then you can bond with a client/colleague over your shared roots
Depends on the country of origin. People may find long European names to be exotic or interesting but I can guarantee you vast majority of people don't like long/unique Asian names.
As an aside, my mother had worked as a teacher in our inner-city at one of the most troubled schools (a la Hilary Swank in Freedom Writers). She had a student named "Shi'Ted" (i.e. Shit Head). Presumably, the parents were not enthusiastic about the birth and decided on that name.
To your point, I don't think we're going to be hearing Shi'Ted opening due diligence calls on M&As.
