H.C. Wainwright & Co.
Has anyone heard anything about H.C. Wainwright & Co.? I see they mostly do deals in the Healthcare and Biotech space... They also rank #1 in deal placement volume. Anyone know anything else?

They're a boutique shop based in midtown NYC. They run so many different debt / equity offerings that their volume is so high, but if you look at the $ volume it's really small actually. Not a terrible shop to intern at your freshman / sophomore summer. And yeah they pretty much only do healthcare stuff.
Want to echo what Hymn said. Small shop, they get a small amount of the economics on a lot of follow-on's and tend to do a lot of PIPE's/RDs. It's better than a ROTH Capital
What about full time? Currently working at a top Val shop for the past few months out of undergrad and want to get into IB? Could wait it out and do a year or so here and then see ops in IB (as of rn seems like 10% of places are recruiting for 2021) or move firms. Conflicted. Plz help

I'd check to see if anyone from there has actually gone on to decent boutiques or MMs.
do they have internships?
I've seen postings for full-time positions
HCW is a boutique HC (healthcare) bank. I've attended a few of their conference and they get a good number fairly decent HC companies to show. HCW's equity research dept is fairly weak & banking is targeted at smaller HC firms.
Do they do any M&A? Anyone know if comp is below, above or at street average?
No. Below street.
