Is there any possible way to obtain numbers for failed R&D for public pharmaceutical firms? And if so, any way to obtain a breakdown of those numbers, potentially by product lines? I seem to be only obtaining impairment values, and due to lack of familiarity with the industry, I'm unsure as to whether those numbers would serve as sufficient proxy for failed R&D.
Also what's the typical neighborhood of numbers for the above? Just to use as a rough benchmark to compare against.
