Help with information overload and walls-of-text

Hi everyone,

to put this simply, I've always been a "number" kind of person, so crunching spreadsheets and analyzing financial data is where I excel (pun intended). However, I'm finding it quite challenging to manage text-based information from reports, market analyses or regulatory documents.

What I see when reading through these documents are meaningless walls-of-text, but I know that there are key information hidden there that cannot be missed. So, I'm reaching out to this community for advice. How do you effectively handle and interpret large volumes of text? Are there any tools or techniques that can simplify this process?

I often experienced the same frustration while working through deals and having to read hundreds of emails every day from management / anyone on the deal teams or counterparties - the best way to deal with this is to just glaze over anything that doesn't say stuff that's addressed to you or that seems like it could require any additional work from your end, this saves about 1-2 hours each day when working through deals

What do you mean by walls of text? Any examples of what this looks like?
