High Blood Pressure during SA Recruiting

Just had a doctors appointment and found out that I have "pre-high blood pressure" (130/75). I am moderately healthy, weighting 180 at 5'11", body fat around 16%, lift weights 3-4 times per week, go through 2-3 packs of zyns per week, and eat pretty healthy (maybe high on the red meat and pork though). I also go to a pretty academically difficult college and have midterms and projects going on at the moment. Is it possible stress from SA recruiting and school is causing this? Lmk if you had something similar going on, and anything you would do to fix this. Also, is it only going to get worse if I'm a full time banker lol?

You gotta quit brother… zyns and sleep deprivation really fucked up my blood pressure as an a first year analyst and regret ever doing them

Get a blood test and check your LDL/HDL Cholesterol and cortisol (stress-related hormone) levels. If you have high LDL cholesterol then most likely it's the zyns and red meat causing your problem.

130 isn't even that bad and if it's a clinic reading that can easily be marked up by 5+ due to nerves. Idk why the US like to hand out meds to everyone but in UK you need a clinic reading of 150 to get medication. Also SA recruiting was more stressful than actually working for me because it felt like your whole life was on the line. It also varies a lot - I measured my own and was like 150 one time before exams I was stressing about when I was off like 3 coffees and 3 hours of sleep (it's completely normal now).

The US "likes to hand out meds to everyone" because the US has pharmaceutical companies that lobby to sell as much of their medications as possible. It's disgraceful because now someone can't distinguish between when it's bullshit lobbying or if they truly need a medication. Our healthcare sector needs to be cleaned up badly.
