Highest comp and overall tiers
Which investment bank has the highest comp on the Street? Evercore? Blackstone/PJT? Centerview? Would tiers based on overall comp, selectivity, quality of work, etc. be something like this:
Tier 1: PJT/BX, Evercore, Centerview, Goldman, Morgan Stanley Tier 2: JPM, Lazard, Moelis, Greenhill Tier 3: BAML, Barclays, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Citi, Rothschild, HL
Qatalyst/Centerview pay a lot more than the BBs. Then Evercore/PJT/Moelis
I work in a top group at a BB and my friends at Evercore/PJT(BX)/Moelis are consistently paid more in salary and year end bonus. BB and EB both have their pros and cons but unfortunately junior compensation isn't a strength at BBs.
I agree BBs do not pay as much but this year the bonuses paid by Citi and Deutsche for first years were higher than the other BBs. For first years:
Tier 1: PJT/BX, Evercore, Centerview, Tier 2: Citi, Deutsche Bank, Lazard, Moelis, Morgan Stanley, Greenhill Tier 3: BAML, Barclays, Credit Suisse, Goldman, JPM, Rothschild, HL
GS and MS pay below average (at the analyst level at least). BAML and JPM were the highest last year from what I saw
