Mid level-ish banker here in HK (think snr assoc to VP) at a one of the larger BB banks in an IBD coverage team thinking more long term. Long story short, decent name in current platform and "safe" path but there's a lot of admin work, low probability pitch chasing, politics.
Have always been curious about other potential more nimble platforms in Asia - in my years working in HK, I've noticed that global EBs don't really have a big presence here and I haven't come across them much in deals. There's a few around but honestly don't know much about them (PJT, Evercore, Lazard, Moelis). Similar question for some of the smaller BBs like Barclays / DB.
Wondering if anyone has insight into these names (or other ones that are similar) in terms of deals, culture, pay, strategy in Asia etc etc?
