Hmm...BB(B) internship for brand name?
So, I already have a nice little offer for internship at a local boutique, CorpFin, and I have just been networking.
However, today at my university board popped up an announcement that JPM is looking for a summer intern in the Sales Credit and Rates. That is certainly not what I am interested in, and infact I'd rather work on M&A at the unknown boutique....
...
However a damned worm has been gnawing me for the last 5 hours. Am I right about that? I am certainly not sure that they would take me, but let's just assume that they do. Is it worth it, having a sales internship at jpm when you are applying for a full time m&a position? I would not be really motivated to do that kind of internship, but I will gladly work my ass over it if I think that it gives me better chances than the other one (still not accepted, as I have a far deadline).
Thoughts, ideas, insults?
if you're a junior take the corpfin one because it will be more relevant for full time positions. if you're anything else (esp. if you're a freshman) take the JPM one, which sounds pretty sick and front office. you'd definitely snag up a lot of junior year interviews with jpm one your resume, plus you get to try something new. maybe you'll end up loving the markets and not want to do banking
Thanks for the reply. I am junior year, non target school (that's why I am quite vulnerable to brand name, and thus the origin of the mental worm :) )
go for the local boutique. The JPM one is not even close to m&a.
