Honest Thoughts on UBS Tech NY 2026

Outside of the shitposts, does anyone at the firm or in the tech space have any updated thoughts on this group? Saw they were on a couple of solid deals recently but given the group's relatively harder time post-CS integration, would appreciate some clarity.

Controversial

Honestly yes they have been on a couple of solid deals recently and that’s the main thing that changed the perception a bit.

I was involved in the migration and right after the CS integration the concerns were very valid. There was real disruption around client coverage overlaps internal reshuffling and some loss of momentum which is why the group had a tougher stretch.

What you’re seeing now is more of a stabilization phase. They didn’t lose the franchise and are still competitive enough to get on relevant mandates which answers your point on deal flow. That’s probably the clearest positive signal.

That said internally it’s still not fully normalized. Junior experience and culture are quite team dependent and some parts are running much smoother than others.

So overall yes recent deals are real and encouraging but the group is still in transition rather than fully back to top form.

On “solid deals”, yet does not name said “solid deals”. Suspicious.

No real deal flow, at least not on the scale of a bb, and pretty terrible overall.

So bad their #2 Tech banker focused on M&A was just fired or quit. Not a good sign… either he saw UBS can’t win or was pushed out because he can’t win…

Group has been a mess for years, I wouldn’t join until there is a group overhaul or reset
