Hong Kong IB summer analyst tips
Hi folks! I'm a sophomore who managed to get interviews at some BBs in Hong Kong. I have about a month to prepare and I wanted to know how I should invest my time. I have two choices :
1)Improve my Chinese .As a Chinese American I have intermediate Chinese level ( speak without any accent , can read basic stuff)
2) learn financial modelling ( comps, LBO, m&as)
I already have strong knowledge in accounting, financial statements and DCF Valuation.
Given my hardcore schedule ( majoring in hard STEM field ) I only have to time to do one of those. What do you guys think I should do? Thank you very much for your time
Possible to learn to model through a source that teaches in mandarin to do both? Probably insanely hard. If I were you I'd try to learn to model and start listening to podcasts in mandarin to do both with only spending additional time on modeling.
Improve your Mandarin language skills - this is the most important skills of a junior analyst in HK these days.
