Horrible bosses

What’s your advice on dealing with the people whose goal is to make your work life miserable? I’m trying to keep as positive an attitude as possible and not take it personally but I’m gonna reach a breaking point soon enough if things keep going on this way.

I overall like my work and the majority of my group, so I don’t think I want to leave the firm or switch groups yet. However, I think I need to develop better strategies when dealing with person X, who is an absolute nut case and seems it make it their mission to constantly lash out at me over the smallest of things and make me feel small / a bad worker. Do I confide in other people in the group? Push back a bit? Or just try to align my way of thinking and how their words affect me.

Very interesting but on the upside, you're a simple lateral transfer away from a nice team. This job is hard enough without working for toxic people, I (like everyone else), have been chased by seemingly every bank under the sun to lateral for the past 1.5 years but it's just too risky to give up my pleasant team and head into an unknown quantity even if pay is 10% higher.
