Honestly, both are solid. HL top group will likely look great on your CV and give you exposure to marquee deals. Greenhill generalist could be more hands-on across different industries, which can be a better learning experience early on. It comes down to whether you care more about brand vs breadth.

 

Unless HL RX NYC, then go Greenhill all day. Better exits, culture, lifestyle, RO rate. No brainer.

HL exits are pretty average regardless, and from friends who interned there (HC, Biz S, FSG) last summer it's an absolute sweatshop. GHL MD's actively help you exit and you are respected as a human being. 

 

If HL RX, its not even a debate. If its M&A I would take Greenhill marginally because of legacy name and exits
