Houlihan Lokey Transaction Opinions?

Hi all, wondering if anyone has experience with the group.

I'm interested mostly about the hours (Have heard conflicting things, seems like it's going to be high but less than IB) and the exits. Not really interested in the IB exits, but I'd be interested in private credit if possible.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Houlihan Lokey's Transaction Opinions group is known for its specialized focus, often involving valuation work and fairness opinions. Here's what you need to know:

  1. Hours: While the hours in Transaction Opinions are demanding, they are generally considered to be less intense than traditional investment banking roles. However, this can vary depending on deal flow and specific team dynamics.

  2. Exit Opportunities: The group provides solid technical skills, particularly in valuation, which can be valuable for transitioning into roles like private credit. While the exits may not be as IB-focused as other groups, the skill set aligns well with opportunities in private credit, corporate development, and other finance-related roles.

If you're targeting private credit, the valuation-heavy experience in Transaction Opinions could be a strong foundation.
