How bad do you have to be to get bottom-bucket?

I’m really not great at anything, but definitely not the worst in my group. I work hard and put in the hours when needed, but never go too far above and beyond. I eat up hours of brutal manual work for my A2s and ASOs, but I tend to make a handful of stupid mistakes every time.

In general, does this seem inline with the expectations of an A1 with only a couple months experience? Or am I complete bottom-bucket garbage? I really don’t care about being “top-bucket” but definitely want to be looked upon in a positive manner considering I’d like to make ASO in 2 years not 3.

If you're at a BB, you will very likely get A2A offer unless you are literally hot steaming garbage and they want you out, or if you're a lateral

Sounds like you're mid bucket, maybe lower in a top group if everyone else is working hard. The stupid mistakes will get better with time. Express interest in the A2A path so they know you wan tit and you will be golden

Nobody wants to work with someone who is constantly making mistakes, specially if they are stupid.

Keep in mind that in IB, you are evaluated by how much easier do you make your bosses lifes (and if they have to do the work by themselves after you delivered a poor quality job, they'll probably be very unhappy and won't want to work with you again).

Can't describe exactly what makes someone bottom ranked but put in hours isn't enough to keep you out of it (specially as a first year, when everyone is joining out of college and expected that every A1 does that).
