How many cold emails?

With the current shit show, I've been cold emailing everyone who has a pulse trying to get my foot in the door. However, today a MD got mad me for sending him a email.

How many emails are you guys sending out and who are targeting?

Nope, first email. I sent the same email to 8-10 MD's in the entire bank (couple hundred MD's there) and he said I sent it to many people. I get what he means but when 1 of every 10 people reply and with the current economic backdrop, it's hard not to be aggressive for a job.

You probably shouldn't send grouped emails like that. There's nothing wrong with sending emails to multiple MDs at the same firm - but space it out. For example, I would send emails to a few people at one firm at different seniority levels in different coverage/product groups. If nothing came to fruition from that, I would try with another 'batch' of people 2-3 weeks later.

Yeah my typical process is to wait 7-10 days after my first batch, then sent one very polite follow up email to that batch, then after another 7-10 days of no responses I send another batch to new people, and so it goes
