How many drinks is acceptable at a work event?

Obviously there’s nuance here depending on who’s at the event and where you are in your career blah blah blah

But speaking generally, your superiors are there, no clients.

Bad look for an analyst or associate to get buzzed/tipsy? What about a VP?

When I was in banking probably overdid it a little here and there but ended up being fine in my team. Have also seen some of my MDs/Directors get pretty plastered. In my view one of the better sides of banking, as it builds team spirit. Imagine grinding in banking without getting a few pints from time to time…

I changed over time though (started pretty young in banking) and on buyside this definitely does not fly.
