How much do you get paid in shareholder advisory?
Starting to see more and more banks dedicate a group to this so was curious to hear how much they're paid? I'd assume lower all-in comp than traditional groups, but interested to hear what people have to say
Probably same base as traditional banking, lower bonus though. If you think about shareholder advisory mandates (e.g. defense), the fees are peanuts. I can't imagine the bonus pool being that large, unless you have hundreds of clients (which would take a large workforce, which in turn cuts into each individual's payout). I just don't see the economics working out for the people involved.
The only way it could be a lucrative role is if it's at a bank that shares the wealth from other groups (M&A allocating part of their revenues to the shareholder advisory bonus pool).
