How much have you lost in the market

TQQQ for years was the most talked about investment strategy on this site, with many people saying it is 100% of their investment account. Curious to see what people’s personal $ and % figure losses are this year (and remember, nobody knows who you are, there’s literally 0 point in lying or inflating your figures)

I went to all cash when Biden was elected. I wasn't a fan of trump's stimulus check, and I had a feeling Biden would not strengthen the economy. I have lost nothing, but inflation has taken a chunk out of my cash.

Also, have had multiple people close to me recently bring up buying land. I’ve always been a fan of land because it’s a finite resource, but I believe the current asset price for the majority of land for sale is inflated. Would like to hear people’s thoughts on this. Lots of stories of “I bought for $200k 8 years ago and sold for $1M last year”, but I don’t believe that original $200k valuation was an outlandish premium over the intrinsic value of the land (if you get what I’m saying).

Work in real estate, do a good amount of development and land speculation. Generally, land owners are not forced sellers because carry costs are extremely minimal - pretty much real estate tax which is spare change usually on undeveloped land. If markets broadly fall landowners just elect not to sell until markets return which makes land prices particularly sticky. I don’t think land pricing will move more than 5 to 10% max to the downside outside of very unique situations such as for tax reasons, family death, company dissolutions, etc. Furthermore, construction costs have escalated so dramatically that the percentage of land as total real estate development cost has become minimal eg

-17% LTM b/w QQQ SWPPX & NASDX, allocation pretty evenly weighted. Note: been holding cash since 8/1/22

This year the move was swing trading SQQQ and TQQQ. Same w SOXL and SOXS. We knew that raising rates would tank the markets but that there'd also be bear market rallies. I think TQQQ buy and hold is only worthwhile when rates are at 0, which is what is basically was since 2008 lol
