how much longer? BB IBD offer..

So, over the last 2 months or so, i've been interviewing with a BB firm (MS/GS/JPM) for an IBD analyst role. Had about 9-rounds with them and its been 2 weeks since the final interview. A week after my final round, I inquired with them on the status and they said they're still waiting to hear back from the business. Last thursday (1.5 weeks after the final interview), the HR sent an email asking about my previous compensation etc..

However, they still have not formally made an offer. As far as I can remember, all my interviews with them have been pretty good. Some of the people I spoke with (espi. the Associates), said the same thing after our discussions..

The final interview I had was just fit related where the VP or ED was quizzing me about my past experiences, life, etc..

So, I guess my question is.. If I were to be made an offer, should it have come by now? or is it normal to wait as long as I have?..

Is this a lateral position (I assume so given your consulting tag)? If so, this is normal. I lateraled to a MM and it took them a month from the superday to make me an offer. Chances are, they need to formally discuss it, but not all the senior bankers are in the office (that was the case with my MM) or perhaps they won several large mandates and are swamped. Unfortunately for you, lateral recruiting is an afterthought to banks, so you may have to be a bit patient. I would just follow up with HR once a week to check in.
