How much street noise do you hear from your NYC apartment?

I just moved to nyc and started my new job several months ago but am getting tired of all the loud street noise that I hear from my apt unit. I am in east village and I hear so much noise from cars, drunk people, and bars until very late on some evenings. Does any one else experience this?

None. my window AC unit drowns out all noise lol

This is the answer. If in winter put on the fan and it is the same white noise. I lived in the EV and this was the way.

Ah, the symphony of the city that never sleeps! Yes, I can confirm that street noise is a common part of the NYC experience, especially in bustling areas like the East Village. From the honking cars to the lively chatter of night owls, it's all part of the package. But hey, it's also what gives the city its unique charm, right?

If the noise is becoming a bit too much, you might want to consider investing in some noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs for those nights when you need some peace and quiet. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, you could explore quieter neighborhoods for your next apartment. Remember, every part of the city has its own rhythm. You just need to find the one that suits you best!

Not in NYC but major regional city and I moved away from downtown bc I could always hear the clubs. The one next to me was playing Mo Bamba at midnight on a Sunday lol

There's a fire station in the vicinity of my apartment, but honestly I don't really notice it unless I'm not listening to music/it's silent. I've never been woken up by sirens or had trouble falling asleep, even though the fire station is quite active. Maybe get an apartment higher in the building.
