How Often Do “Rankings” Change?
I’ve been browsing some wiki pages for firms like Lehman, MS, and other small boutique firms (that no longer exist) and it got me thinking: How often do the “rankings” of banks change? Clearly firms like Goldman, MS, and JPM have survived some brutal times so I suppose that is why they are considered prestigious, but when I go through old threads on here asking “Bear vs MS” or “Lehman vs Citi” I think it is crazy how fast these “power rankings” change.
Specifically with people nowadays choosing boutique firms 20 years old over the 3 hard hitting name brand banks, it has me wondering how long these small firms even last?
