Can I break in with a 3.3 GPA? Rising Sophomore, Student-Athlete, Semi-Target, Econ Major

Rising sophomore at a semi-target on the West Coast. Currently at a 3.3 GPA. D1 student-athlete. Have a solid search fund internship, leadership in a finance club, and recently joined a finance fellowship geared toward student-athletes. Aiming to recruit for IB.

Does the GPA kill me, or can I still make it work?
At what point do firms check your transcripts?

no point asking us try to network with athletes and get your foot in the door it has been done  before,if you cant get huge bank i recommend reaching out to boutiques in your area they will likely be more lenient ad know your shit=.

Definitely focused on getting a 4.0 this semester. Since IB recruiting is this upcoming fall, I wanted to ask if I should be upfront about my current GPA, or could I just lie till I bump up my gpa after the fall? Not sure if banks actually check transcripts during summer recruiting or only later when giving full-time return offers.
Appreciate any honest advice here.

Never lie...that won't end in a good place. Just tell people that you were adjusting to a new schedule with school and athletics, and you will be getting a 4.0 going forward. I was a college athlete, and it's really not that hard to get top grades if you focus. A job in IB will be a lot more demanding than a 4.0 plus workouts/training/practice.
