How smart do you need to be to be a good analyst?

I sometimes think I could be a slow learner. I usually get good exam scores but feel like others in my class can read through a chapter in a textbook and understand the concepts much faster or more efficiently than I can, where others could read a chapter in an hour but it could take me several hours to understand stuff. Have noticed this more in college than in HS. Ironically, I notice this variance is usually with finance-related classes, but less so with other subjects.

How would this affect performance as an analyst? And how to still be great at the job despite this?

Lol learning the financial concepts for the job is quite bit easier than what you learn in your finance classes.

Take a course that includes valuation, accounting, modeling, excel and ppt. Try BIWS, they have guides and courses. This should be more helpful and applicable than the majority of the stuff you learn from a class
