how soon after interviews do interviewers make their decisions?

after superdays it seems that HR usually tells you to wait about a week to hear about, but does it really take that long after the interviews end to make a decision? i'd expect all the interviewers to just look over their notes, talk amongst themselves and make their decisions within a few hours after the superday ends. does anyone know anything about this?

I guess my main interest is knowing if the deportation continues well into the week. I'm not as much concerned about the number of days it happened to take them to respond but rather "insider information" on the evaluation process

Within an hour of the last interview. Everyone's in the room, if the decision wasn't made then, then when?

I'm sure they say a week because your campus office doesn't want people calling asking about where they stand.

It will usually take not more than 30-90 minutes. It works like this: You come in for an interview. The guys who interview you received your CV that morning or the night before and haven't looked at it. Whoever is the least under water, wil go interview the applicant at first and this continues for the number of rounds they are set on until they completed their 3 or 5 or 50 interview rounds. Then in between rounds usually all the people involved in interviewing will have a quick chat and the last person to interview you will give his or her opinion on the applicant. After that everyone will get together and discuss the applicant for max 15-30 minutes and then the decision is made. The calls come so late, since the people sometimes forget and then call you some time after that.

I have witnessed how an applicant was interviewed by 5 people in one day and the decision was already made after the first interview. The other 4 just went in to get a break from their daily routine or to "grill" the applicant.

I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing. See my Blog & AMA

Similarly, one of the other groups in my office is filling an analyst position currently. They havent brought anyone in for the superday yet, but have already pretty much decided who is getting it based on the phone interviews.

I do know they are bringing in 4 people though. Such a waste of time.

it took a BB (Sales) a week to get back to me. It was kindof unique though in that it seemed I was the only final round candidate and the position was never posted anywhere. it was kind of an inside job haha.

But still it was killing me for a week becasue I wanted the job so bad. ended up getting it. And i was so shocked when they finally called me back i sounded like a total pussy adn said 'really' when they gave me the offer. hahaha. wait to make it seem like youd been there before hahahaha!
