I think all lecturers have a generic template they use for recommendations. And who cares what your lecturer thinks anyway man. Doubt they will be shocked that you want to do a msc finance.

 

You think it's a really interesting academic problem, want to see ways finance can be changed to make things better for the world, blah blah blah.

One issue with this that I could see is they'll write this in the recs, so maybe say that your worried you won't get admitted if the adcom knows your motivations, so please don't disclose them in the recommendations.
