How to find a way to attend conferences or summit events

I am currently working as a consultant for a smaller firm and I don't really invited to their events. However i recently learned that firms i.e GS, JPM, CITI and others have some special summits or conferences and wanted to know how can I attend them. I would like to network but also would like to learn stuff as well from these events to advance in the industry. I feel that at my current firm I just do what I have to do, help out the team and work on impressing my manger then I go home. How to I put myself out there?
