How to invest in PE?

May not be the best forum for this, but my dad (doctor) is now a multi-millionaire and now wants to diversify into alternatives. He called me (2nd year IB analyst) asking how to invest in a PE fund. I told him to look for family offices or HNW wealth managers that can invest his money into PE-style vehicles - any recommendations for resources he can look at to allocate his funds?
