How to proceed further?

Question

Hi everyone.So this is my first question on this site.

I have received an offer for undergraduation in MA(hons) economics at University of Edinburgh and will be beginning first year in September this year. I would like to add that I am an international student. I am really very interested in investment banking and I will be aiming for a FO job throughout my university. I have done my research and though I have got a basic idea, I am still quite confused.

I will be really thankful if someone can just explain to me how should I proceed from here for the next four years of my university.

Congrats on the offer, it's a good school so a solid place to start. The UK luckily offers 'Spring Insight' weeks which you should aim for in the 1st year of uni. They don't offer much practical knowledge but help you land SA roles with the banks you've done them with. Most BBs offer these Insight weeks so take a look at that and focus on grades and these 1st year. If possible apply to SA roles in 1st year but this will be a priority for 2nd and 3rd year.

And what about the networking?Should I be doing something about that right now?Or will there be time for that later? Tons of my classmates have started digging out various contacts and connecting with them before entering uni.It is giving me the feeling that I may fall behind them.

Sweetheart..this is what you should do now. 
Party hard,livewild, learn a language, go for a short trip, flirt with guys,have summer flings and watch past episodes of Tom and Jerry and Thomas and friends just for the sake of nostalgia,pamper yourself and spend as much time as you can with your family. You are about to leave your childhood behind and so make the most of whatever remaining months you have. And since you are an international student,you will be leaving behind a lot to make your way up in a new country. Cherish these moments.
