How to Respond to Question "Why Finance?"

I'm currently applying for universities, and I was wondering how I could go about writing a convincing "Why Finance?" essay without sounding greedy and only interested in having a lucrative career. Any insights and experiences to share?

Yeah a route for financial engineers. Hard to run with that for banking.. I agree it's not terrible.

“Elections are a futures market for stolen property”

After World War II, when most of Europe and parts of Asia devastated after the war, a massive project was initiated by the United States began to rebuild Europe and Japan.

America, due to her exceptional financial markets, was able to fuel billions (trillions in today dollars) into rebuilding infrastructure such as airports, high ways, power plants and factories.

These projects and financing would not have been possible without a strong financial system and highly intelligent financial personal to oversee the projects.

Britain ruled the old world because they had a superior economic system consisting of well trained financiers. As such American used the same system to extend her reach across the globe and establish herself as a world super power.

In short, I studied finance because finance has played a crucial role in shaping the history of the world.
