How to spend $2k in 1 day? Credit card bonus

I need to spend $2k in 1 day to get my credit card sign-on bonus. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I’m not a super materialistic person, so I’ve never spent much of my bonus.

Seems like rough times ahead, so I’m hesitant to buy anything lavish. I just need to get my credit card bonus.

Thought about buying gold… also thought about something I can sell right away for the same value.

Any suggestions?

Buy gold coins on your credit card? Get some cash back and some gold, doesn’t seem like a bad deal.

Gold is a decent idea if you have some survivalist tendencies, not an insult as I do as well. I keep a few thousand in gold at home. I had family who had to flee Poland as Jews from the Nazi’s so keeping some gold and silver, even if just some silverware, on hand was always taught to me.

Maintaining a non-work computer is a good idea. New phones are basically $1k. A halfway decent watch maybe? I wouldn’t blow it on fancy dinners or bottle service, but that’s not me, at least not in 20 years.

Or just don't spend it? How many points are we talking about here? Points are generally valued at 1-2¢ so it better be in excess of ~300k points. I highly doubt it is.

This is literally how credit cards get you to spend money you don't need to. Their whole purpose is to keep you spending and using their card so they can rake in transaction fees and hopefully get you to carry a balance.

Would start by pre-paying any sort of expense you can via credit card–utility, insurance, etc. Then, look through any sort of subscription service you have–gyms, Netflix, etc–and immediately switch to annual plans that will bill upfront. I would also move to stock up on non-perishable items you plan to buy throughout the year–toliet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, etc. For the last category, if you go to the gym a lot, stocking up on supplements that generally have a 2+ year shelf-life could easily help clear out 1k.
