How to switch industry groups?

I have just converted my internship in a fulltime offer and will start in February. Unfortunately I am really unhappy with my industry team.

I get along well with my team but I absolutely hate the industry. Now my question is how can I switch the industry?

Should I ask for a meeting with my MD and HR? Also how to I ensure I get in one of the three teams I am actually really interested in working at?

I have been a high performing intern and everyone congratulated me on my good work. I have also networked well within the firm, but I guess it still depends on luck on where you end up with?

In addition, my team was really accommodating... I informed them within the first 6 weeks of my internship that I need to receive an offer after 8 weeks as I would otherwise pursue another opportunity. (It was an offcycle internship in Europe ca 20weeks).

They told me they really liked me and would want me in their team. Now, how to I switch without destroying the relationship?

I work in a very specific team (e.g. real estate, energy) and hope to convert to a more generalist team (e.g. tmt, healthcare, m&a execution)
