Got a lateral offer recently... how do I tell my group I’m leaving? Do I say I’m going to another IB (but not mention the name)? Do I give 2 weeks notice or do they automatically terminate me? Help!

Confirmed. We just had an analyst leave for a lateral position, he intended to work for two more weeks. Due to confidentiality they walked him out same day.

Will probably be an immediate termination or a gardening leave until notice period ends.
If you want to stay for 2 weeks don’t tell them you’re going to another IB. If you want to take a break before starting say you are going to another bank because you think it’s more aligned with your interests but thank them for the opportunity.
