How to Time Lateral Coffee Chats?

I understand that common advice to lateral is networking. But how do you find time to get coffee / hop on the phone with bankers at other firms while you're in the office as a summer analyst? Especially if you bear in mind the fact that you do not want to jeopardize getting a RO in any way...

Any advice or tips are highly appreciated!

Don’t have experience with this personally, but my guess is set some time aside for when you would be eating lunch and I’m sure you can get away with it without anyone noticing

This job market sucks, not sure how worth it it is to attempt to lateral for internship to FT. Ik a lot of banks are going to take less people than interns, highly doubt there will be many FT spots open.

If this dude is at UBS, he is probably not gonna get a return so he is just screwed. Being a UBS intern and trying to lateral is a choice, given that expected return rates are very low. I have it on very good word that the intern hiring at UBS was done at the time, expecting UBS to be competitive with Barclays at the very least, that vision hasn't materialized, and there are going to be (I assume) significantly fewer FT spots compared to SA spots. Btw, this applies to "top groups" not just TMT, FIG, RE, etc. as well, although the top 2 or 3 groups at UBS aren't bad they have all had a slow down in deals.
