How useful is Pearl and Rosenbaum's Investment Banking book when preparing for interviews?

Would I be better off sticking to more concentrated stuff (read: guides), or would it be worthwhile to go through the book?

The interviews would be for FT in September/October

I need to nail the technicals

I feel that Rosenbaum and Pearl goes well beyond the tech questions in FT recruiting. Even then, it's a great resource for understanding the ideas that go behind valuation. If you read the guides, you'll know how to answer a DCF question, but if you read R&P, then you can answer questions about when it might be useful to use a DCF over a comparables analysis. It all comes down to the level of detail you want to know. Hope that helped.
