Definitely worthwhile, although the detail they go into is quite in depth but that's not a bad thing.
I feel that Rosenbaum and Pearl goes well beyond the tech questions in FT recruiting. Even then, it's a great resource for understanding the ideas that go behind valuation. If you read the guides, you'll know how to answer a DCF question, but if you read R&P, then you can answer questions about when it might be useful to use a DCF over a comparables analysis. It all comes down to the level of detail you want to know. Hope that helped.

How so?
Book took me from 0 valuation knowledge to a high level that let me land the first job I interviewed for.
I'm reading the book right now, just finished part two. It's definitely worth it. If your interest in valuation goes beyond just acing interviews, then you might also want to look up Aswath Damodaran of NYU. You can find all your lectures for his MBA course on valuation online.

I hear amazing things about this book.
Does this book make self-study courses such as those by BIWS and Wallstreet Training obsolete in terms of technical questions during interviews?
Would going through this book be enough for technical questions?
Rosenbaum covers the accounting/valuation part of any technical guide and gives you great info on how you should think of valuation. However, I would definitely recommend the WSO Technical and Behavioral guides. If you've got these two + Rosenbaum, there's no way you can screw up interviews!
Rosenbaum will give you all the background info and be more in-depth than the guides. However, the guides are still valuable because they give you an understanding how questions will be asked etc.
the one thing Rosenbaum doesn't really cover is merger models+accretion/dilution.
