have a friend that summered there -- didn't enjoy it at all.
Would you mind elaborating?
I heard anyone with Chinese language skills got stuck translating for most of the summer.
My friend who interned there last summer liked it and is returning. I heard one of their full time grad rotational programs doesn't have great exit ops.
Anything regarding comps for HSBC SA IBD in SG or HK?
comparable with BBs
Cheers, can someone confirm this for the HSBC SG office?
juniors at most bbs work on translations a lot... this is common for bbs in hk exit options largely depend on whether u are native chinese (not including hk) in general the 5 american bb and UBS/CS would give better exits compensation for ibd is more or less the same for juniors at most big name banks (the ranking for asia is very different from the one in the states though) its 9k usd a month at these places whats different is the year end bonus and the pay at senior level
Man you have no idea...Each BB in HK has a dedicated translation team which does the bulk of translation, and the interns are supposed to only proofread. It's still time consuming but translating everything yourself is a whole different story, and this is what interns do at HSBC. I would say on average 50% of your time (prob an understatement) is spent on translation and I've seen someone whose only job is translation over the summer.
