Recently switched to a new team where it seems like everybody comes in, sits down and does not move until 1) it is time to eat or 2) the food has to come out again. Wtf? How tf do you stay seated like that for so long? I feel a need to get up like every hour when not in an absolute time crunch. I am crazy??
Walk around a bit every hour for a few minutes.

I mean that's what I did. When things would slow down a bit, and I was getting a bit restless sitting down, I would just take a quick walk around the office, look out the windows, and sit back down. I didn't get any weird looks, I'm not sure about your group, but if you do get dodgy looks for doing that, maybe reconsider the group lmao, just would be absurd
If there are any medical reasons for you to stand more, let HR know and you'll get a standing desk.
Standing desks are also good for people without any medical reasons, standing is better than sitting.
What type of stuff requires standing more? Yesterday I had a pretty big hangover, not sure if that counts
A lot of offices also have adjustable desks. there are buttons on the side, up and down. don't you have those? we have them in both NYC and London.
If you have hot desking just look for these desks and get there early in the morning. they are pretty cool.
I prefer sitting in the morning and standing in the afternoon, they are not bad.
Hydrate, my man, first of all and move around every hour for a nice stroll to the bathroom.
Then get up and move around, what's the issue here?

Be a jackass and get a standing desk
I drink like 10+ glasses of water a day so I always get up to refill my glass when it’s empty, plus I go on seperate walks to use the bathroom. Also getting lunch/coffee with coworkers is another good excuse to get up and move around.

I'm surprised some offices still don't have standing desks. Should be a given on every bullpenn, the benefits of more productivity all around more than outweigh the costs.
100% with you. Luckily we have standing/adjustable desks. I always try and take a 10-15 walk around lunch time whenever possible and generally will get up every 2 hours, bare minimum.
being 100% serious, how do you guys deal with the crazy amount of ball sweat that comes from sitting down so long? I haven’t found a way…I literally leave sweat stains in my chairs after exams, studying, etc.
