I need a new watch (HELP)

Hello WSO,

I love watches the classics, and I am sure that I will get some hate for saying that I am a classic metal band type of guy. Think Subs, Daytona, date just, and some omegas. Dream watch Rolex Daytona 6239, or a Daytona Platinum.

I have been able to save some money from my internship and I want to buy a nice watch similar to the classic Rolex or Omegas. (Please don’t recommend Seiko). I am looking for some recommendations that fit that style under $1,000 that is a good work watch that will look good with a suit but you can also dress it down.

If you are open to buying used, and maybe stretching your budget to $1,200-$1,500, I would highly recommend you look into the Tudor Black Bay 36. The brand is highly respected (owned by Rolex, and a lot of their watches share the same components and build quality), yet understated and the watches have a classic style. The Black Bay 36 is Tudor's equivalent of the Rolex Explorer I. It has an ETA automatic movement that is truly a workhorse (very reliable, keeps good time, and cheap to service every 4 years or so).

Movado watches have significantly lost their brand value.

I'd honestly rather have an Oris for the prices they charge.
