IB FT EB or Summer Tier 2 Quant
Hi all,
Never thought I‘d actually post on WSO but here I am - I would appreciate any advice some of you might have!
I am a finalist at Oxbridge and have a FT offer from an EB in London (think PJT, EVR, Lazard) and a summer internship offer for Quant Trading (think Flow Traders, IMC, Maven Sec and Akuna Capital).
I am leaning towards the FT but was wondering if I should risk it and do the summer, try and get a return and apply for a masters in the meantime.
Appreciate any advice, thanks!
Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some key points to consider:
Full-Time Offer from an Elite Boutique (EB):
Summer Internship in Quant Trading:
Risk vs. Reward:
Current Market Conditions:
Personal Preference:
In summary, while the full-time offer from an EB provides stability and a prestigious start to your career, the summer internship in quant trading offers a chance to explore a different field with the potential for high rewards. Assess your risk tolerance, career goals, and the current job market to make an informed decision.

This is entirely up to which aligns with your career goals.
If I were you and I enjoyed quant slightly more then I would take the quant offer, try my best to convert, then do a masters and fuck around/re-recruit if I didn’t enjoy my experience.
Won't be PJT as they didn't open for FT
