I have no idea how it will be in over a year but I bet it will be very competitive. Everyone I know who is interning this summer is planning to recruit for better positions FT. My friends at top EBs want to go to the buyside. My friends at BBs want to jump to EBs and my friends at MMs or lower BBs want anything better. So if you don’t have an offer for this summer, FT recruiting will likely be very tough.
I feel like this is always the case, but nonetheless very true. That's the rat race.
