Not Chinese or anything, but genuinely curious: What are the top IB Groups in China? How does compensation compare to the U.S. at the higher levels?
I imagine that Analysts get paid way less, but MD's may make just as much?

depends on if it’s HK or mainland. For HK juniors get paid more because of favorable tax rate. Mainland pays less.
In HK pre-tax pay is on par (perhaps slightly higher than) with US. Top players are BBs + Chiense IBs (CICC, CITIC, Huatai etc.)
In Mainland usually around 20%-30% lower if both top banks, but in good years you get really crazy bonuses. Top players are only the Chinese ones. Non-top players mostly pays waaay lower salary.
