IB influencers?

I keep seeing ex-investment bankers as “influencers” on my TikTok or Instagram. They never put their name so it’s very hard to find out what school they went to or what bank they worked out. So when there is a guy on TikTok talking about his “banking” experience idk if this guy is UBS intern who didn’t get the offer or a GS TMT hardo.I’m just curious. Not hating, in fact, I like a lot of the content they make.I’m thinking about people like:
- your_finance_brother (guy from Duke with short curly hair)
- fitfinancebro (white guy who is body builder)
- chief.analyst (skinny redhead guy)
- David from Goldman Stanley TMT (with Constance and Francesca)Etc…

Focus on getting an offer. I think prospects miss the forrest for the trees. Getting an IB job at any reputable bank is a great outcome from college, no matter how you look at it and set's you up to have really strong earning potential. Recruiting is heavily lucked based in terms of where you get interviews, how your interviews go, etc. There's a reason that it's not just the top BB/EB alum that are successful... getting those offers is a mixture of skill and luck. I was at GS, but a ton of smarter and more prepared people than me ended up at mid-tier or lower-tier BB/EB's.
