IBD Associate reaching out to me
Hey guys, so I'm a final year student currently immersed in the ft recruiting cycle for IBD positions. I did not do my summer analyst stint at any of the BBs for investment banking in my third year summer. However, I've been applying for the ft roles now and I received an email from an associate at one of the BBs looking to "connect with me and share more about FT roles in their IB group" (from what I have read, this group is quite solid, not the best but still a revenue generator).
Could I know if any other fellows have ever received such an email from associates/analysts/VP etc during the FT cycle? I am not sure if this is normal but I'm nonetheless very thankful to even be contacted like this...anyway, would you guys also happen to have any tips on how I could prepare for this call?
Thanks and have a great day!!
sounds like db
are they actively reaching out to students?
bump
Yeah it isn’t always HR or a recruiter. I applied for a bunch of jobs through handshake and ~50% of the times an Analyst or Associate would reach out for a first round
Could I know if they explicitly call it a first round/interview or did they just say its to share more about the roles?
They can call it whatever they want but for your purposes its always an interview
Got something like this from Goldman; I hadn't submitted an app but had attended some info sessions.
