if you had these offers, what would you pick?
- HLHZ FAS
- petsky prunier ibanking
- Long, Deep value Asset Management fund with about $5BN (and smaller hedge fund) in capital based in PA
- TimeWarner biz dev
--this is with a year of tmt banking experience; not saying i have/don't have these offers yet, i'm just saying which would you pick and why? ranking would be great; thanks so much!
I would definitely go with Houlihan FAS. It is arguably the most respected/prestigious group for HLHZ and they are a top MM. In my opinion, it would make for a great experience.
if you're analyzing direct investments by the fund, definitely choose that. buy side > sell side. is this stevens cap mgmt in radnor?
Depends on what you want to do. I would take:
But that's me and I'm in that tiny minority that thinks IB is overrated.
But I agree. If you have an Asset Management offer, you should take it.

Holymonkey,
Everyone here and their mother knows you want to be a lawyer. At this point, the only question we have is:
Why do you keep trying to justify your reasons for going the law route on a finance forum??
Quit posting your 'IB is overrated' and 'law school is more intellectual' nonsense.
OP asked a question. I answered said question. No reason to get your $50 underwear in a bunch.
Plus I don't give a damn what anybody on this board thinks about me.

Why do you think he can get into HLS? It certainly isn't easy.
move on to HFs after HLHZ FAS, because of the raw valuation experience; does this seem sensible, has anyone gone to hlhz fas?
what kind of bonus would you expect; comparable to m&a I would assume (and prob better now) right?
I would put HLHZ FAS as the last choice. Deal flow should be decent, but no one wants to do fairness opinions all day.
If it were up to me, my choice would be Time Warner Business Development. I think they are pretty acquisitive, and will need some fresh blood to turn the tide against the demise of old media.
on those q's i asked?
....
what are hours like at HLHZ fas?
whoever said FAS is arguably "HLHZ's most respected/prestigious" group was obviously drunk while posting. I would say, "arguably," that FAS is their least respected group with restructuring and CorpFin clearly being the top two groups there.
