I’m scared I won’t convert
I have a summer internship at a London BB this summer (Gs/Ms)
UK officially going into what looks like a 2 year recession
Will this have any impact on me converting my summer internship in IBD to full time?

Irrespective of market conditions, interns will feel this fear every year. You're in a great position given you have received an offer during these times, so the hard part is done. My advice would definitely be not to worry too much now, as it is a very long time away. Number 1 priority should be school and making sure you don't have to resit any exams over summer (during the internship) and to also be able to lessen the stress for next year (so you can relax / in case you need to be making applications).
You can do it!
If it makes you feel any better, I didnt t get an offer in CB at a BB this summer. But I landed a FT gig at an EB in IBD.
How? FT recruiting was brutal this year. Or least I thought
Was able to spin my experience and networked really hard
same didn't convert in EB IB but landed FT in another EB IB
Firms don't ever rescind offers or cancel programmes (such as capital markets) do they? I had a thorough read of my contract and i couldn't find anything about at will employment...
they can't contractually, but there are no legal remedies u can take if they breach contract - you can't even really argue for equitable estoppel - essentially there’s no downside for them pulling an offer other than reputation damage
oh okay, thanks. just a bit worried because i've yet to see anyone else with an offer for this division, and it's usually one of the bank's most popular ones given its strengths...
