I think it'd be worse to be a first year who's been working for 2-3 months and then suddenly losing their job... no prospects and no transferable skills... at least in school you're still getting recruited - even if it's not for IB.
I haven't been up on recruiting because I'd thought that I was going back to ML... I distinctly remember them recruiting for banking, but as I said previously, they may have pulled.
Yeah I honestly don't know what to tell you...getting into a BB now is going to be...improbable...I know for certain that Morgan Stanley had an IBD accelerated interview processs in the Fall, so for anyone who somehow has MS coming to your school this fall should not hold your breath for an offer

relax, everything will work out
People don't feel sorry for you when they are losing their jobs and their savings....
Could be worse. You could be a senior right in the middle of the hiring/interview process...
Looks like I have an MBA in my future.
Yeah. my poor friend got a full-time lehman offer and now she doesnt have anything.
Yea that hurts. Had a few buddies last year that had Bear offers. One of my good friends is at B of A, hopefully he'll end up ok.

I'm a senior with an ML offer...
Start looking for alternatives just in case...
I missed all the deadlines (only GS/MS/C/Barc are recruiting for full-time). These were on the 10th. How would I approach recruiters?
Err... I guess I should look at boutiques as well. Still, do you think there's any way to be considered for interview at any of these other BBs?
aloki, Morgan Stanley is recruiting for IBD at your school?
I would prob email them and explain the situation and see if they will have any pity...
Problem is regardless FT is going to be a complete shitshow
Last time I checked they were. They may have pulled out as many firms did in the past few weeks (I know for a fact that Bain did, among others).
Do you go to University of the Gods? Because I've heard that MS is even pulling from the likes of HYP...

I just talked to career services and can confirm that they are NOT interviewing for banking anymore. They pulled...
Yeah they're not interviewing for it at my school, but they are listed for S&T.
Is it like that for you?
Strange on the MS website it says they are doing 1st rounds for Stanford and Georgetown only.
