I'm very soft spoken.
Will being soft spoken affect from getting a job in IB? I'm taking public speaking next semester to hopefully combat the problem. I can speak loud when I want to, I just wish it would be automatic instead of me having to make sure I'm speaking loud enough.
Sorry, I didn't catch anything you just wrote. Can you type a little louder next time?
Unfortunately, it can. People associate extroversion with leadership and competence. I would just learn to fake it during your interviews.
Everything impacts people's opinion of you. Luckily, you can work on your thing, as opposed to being weird-looking or really short or bald or what have you.
Alternatively, turn the tables and play it like you're using one of Jack Donaghy's negotiating techniques to force people to be quiet and lean towards you in order to hear what you're saying.
also a tactic used by Michael Scott
emulate the ballers that drive your avatar in their music vids and you'll be aight dawg
Fake it 'til you make it.
That's what... she said?
Soft-spoken too. You will eventually learn to control it.
As kenny said, learn to use it at your advantage when you want people to listen to you.
not a big problem, as long as you don't lack analytical thinking and an ability to answer concisely.
But soft spoken does not equal inaudible. You're fine.
