Is it necessary to sit for CFA exam if you plan on being in banking over course of your career or transition into senior role at corporate? I know that it's a big investment and time commitment, so I'm debating. Plus, it's hard since we rarely have any free time to study for the exam.
Any thoughts????
Well I heard its important on Wall Street... but here in Asia, its not really needed. Still helps a bit though.

no need for a cfa in banking...more relevant in Asset Management
Where do people think they need the charter for I-banking? If you actually look at the test all of it pertains to the buy side of the business and maybe some equity research. You should only spend the time and energy on it if you really want to go into the buyside or you want to put another bullet point on your CV for B school
