If DB had a certain allotment to cut in the analyst ranks, I'd guess they'd rather cut more incoming analysts who need to be trained and onboarded rather than those who are already proficient at their job. That said, they probably can't cut the entire incoming class because they need some to fill turnover. Not sure how they would be deciding their cut mix.
