Incoming Intern at FRB; How Bad Would It Be To Put JPM On LinkedIn post?

Hey lads, so basically I was gonna intern at First Republic Bank, then as you know JPM acquired them earlier this morning. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think FRB technically operates under the J.P. Morgan brand post-merger. Would it be a terrible idea for me to grab some extra prestige points by putting J.P. Morgan instead of FRB for my LinkedIn followers?

Or maybe some variation of:
Incoming Summer Analyst Intern at First Republic Bank (now J.P. Morgan)
Incoming Summer Analyst Intern at J.P. Morgan (previously First Republic Bank)

What do you guys think, is this a power move or a cringey attempt to ride the JPM coattails? I need your expert opinions on this.

come on kid. you know in your insecure heart that it's a cringy attempt to ride JPM clout. not that it's going to stop you from doing it anyway but just know that everyone is going to be laughing at you which will achieve the exact opposite of what you're trying to accomplish by clout chasing

Thank you for your honest opinion, I appreciate it. My intention was not to "clout chase" or come across as cringy. As someone trying to break into IB, I am simply trying to make the most of my summer internship and build my professional network.

Stupid troll - but FRB doesn't have IB or anything institutional to begin with lol

Yea, thats what I thought - but not sure if this is a shitpost - op seems confident theyre keeping incomings and current employees. If anything, I think theyre just keeping the branches and wealth management.

Thanks for your thoughts! I got the job because I wanted to do something in finance. In regards to my LinkedIn post, I was actually thinking of taking it a step further and tagging the FRB recruiters to thank them. What do you think, should I also reach out to the recruiters at JPM? Just to really solidify my commitment to the brand. I'm open to all suggestions.

Do it. Straight up put down whatever you want. Say Incoming IB SA at J.P. Morgan. Hell say Incoming IB SA at Evercore. Who’s gonna stop you? The pussies in this thread? What are they gonna do other than cry and mope while they type up a 300 character message to connect with you on LinkedIn for lateral opportunities? You’ll learn what the LinkedIn kids that say they went to or because of 1 study abroad semester have known all along. You can always do whatever you want.
